Hi all, I was thinking about upgrading my 2002 400ex suspension. Would I notice a major difference and is it worth the extra $$$ ? If so, what company should I go with? I do mainly trail riding but nothing too serious.

Thanks!!

In my opinion, upgrading your suspension to handle your weight and riding ability is the best mod you can make to your quad. You will find that you will be able to hit obstacles faster and have much better control when manuevering and cornering. It is money well spent and the difference is night and day. If money is an object go with the Works shocks. They perform well and have an attractive price. Axis, Elkas, PEP, TCS, are upper end shocks but I feel are worth the extra cost, especially if you race and are a very aggresive rider. I have a set of Elkas and have no complaints. If I was you I would definitely purchase the shocks. You won't regret your decision.

I chose to go with LoneStar for my a-arms, axle and steering stem. The stem isnt really a neccesity but i bent my stocker ina rollover so i decided to get the LSR. The Arms are +2 and i like them alot, initail install is kinda harsh since they are adjustable for castor, camber and toe. I put TCS SCS shocks up front and i have yet to do the rear conversion kit. So far, they have been great, and i havent had any problems with them. K & K seems to be agood dealer for all the suspension mods.

I would just get some Works Performance front shocks. The rear shock works pretty good in stock form. Even the stock front shocks work pretty good, but if you ride hard the tend to over heat and fade. If I were you and wasn't going to race, I would just use the stock shocks(which work very well for stock shocks), and spend the rest of my money on beer.
