Look at the Goodyear Mudrunner or Tracker P. The Titan 489XT is also a semi aggressive tire. If you have 12" rear rims then the Goodyear Rawhide would be the BEST for what you want. I have owned these Goodyear tires and highly recomend them.

ftwflh,
lots of choices in the stock sizes, sur tracs, all tracs, bearclaws, 489's, dirt devils, and others..
I have sur tracs, light, grip good, but not as much ply rating as bearclaws, on grass in a tight turn, low speed, they pucker the ground a little, but don't take chunks out of it. good grip on hardpack, asphalt, haven't tried them in much mud, but I wanted a light, all around tire that wasn't a pure mud grip, I can feel the tires a little at 40 mph or so, but not bad, I run mostly hardpack in surveying, so I wanted to be able to climb out of a holding pond if need be, but not tear up to much terrain for most things.
overall I'm happy with them, but I may consider DD, or bearclaws next time, for puncture resistance.
definitly don't go with dunlops, at least the ones like on my p-650....

enjoy the toy runs that are coming up..

Yes a neighbor bought a set or 489s for his Magnum 425 at Walmart and he has been happy with the tires. The 489s are an u]excellent</u> all-around tire for a good price. American made like the Goodyears but less $$$. Walmart mounts the tires for $3 a tire (good deal).

I will probbly go with the 489XT if I cant get another sample set of Jackals at work.I work in a wheel factory where we make wheels and mount tires on them so mounting is no prob.If I go with the XT i will loose an inch of width on the rear.

hey how about bear claws ive got a set and like them alot so far
oh these are on an arctic cat 300

-they're supose to be one of the best in the snow.
-theyre pretty good in mud alot better than the 489ATs
-great ride on hard pack not very bumpy or loud even on tar
-they are a pretty hard rubber so they last forever.
-i didn't think that they were much heavier than the stock 489s
-they make alot of sizes so finding the right size is pretty easy
-though the ones i got don't have it, they are supose to have a rim gaurd
-thick tire so they won't get flast very easy.

ummm.. oh ya they were pretty cheap too. i payed $110 (i think) for two (25x10-12) and shiping the tires were 47 buck a pieces.
the place i ordered mine was 4atvtires.com i think they have a different name now but im pretty sure theyre the same prices and stuff.
it took less than a week(4-5 days) to get here.
hope all this helps lets us know what you decide and how you like them

The Bearclaw is too agressive for the style tire you are shopping for. I had Bearclaws and they are a fair tire... not near the quality of the Goodyear but you pay for what you get.
