Holeshots on a wolverine? ideas...
#1
I have the stockers on my Wolverine right now. originally I was thinking of going with my stock rims and some 6-ply dirt devils all around. I was thinking about it lately and since modding my airbox and suff and the fact I will soon be getting my 2x4 kit I really don't have a desire to do lots of bogging any more. It was never the best for it anyways. I was thinking of going with smaller (between 20 and 22 because stockers are 23) on aftermarket rims. Any reccomendations on this. I know I will loose a little bit of top speed but that doesn't really bother me cause I don't drag with a wolverine. It should increase my acceleration and because I mostly do woods riding I don't need a top speed as much as I want whip in the trails. Just looking for ideas/opinions on the idea cause I haven't seen one set up like that before. I was thinking like 20"ers

i have never heard of anyone running holeshots on that kind of a bike. but i don't see why it couldn't but if i were you i would try to get as close to stock size id try for the 22's thats just what i would do
22's would lower gearing some but not way to much so you always have to be shifting. and it won't drop you ground clearance too much
just my thoughts
hope it helps

The reason you dont see any wolverines with smaller tire or rims is cause the rear disc brake is inside the rim and has no clearance for smaller rims which makes it hard to put racing tire or etc. The front combination is simpler all you gotta do is grind down the dust plate/cover in front of disc brake assembly. Im gonna put razr2's on my wolverine with a 2 inch spacer for the rear or offset rims. Theres another way to put Holeshots or Razrs on the rear is by taking off the rear brake
