Hi pal.. I just got a new 450 kodiak and up graded the tires to gators.. They are awesome I went with the same size as the stock tires.. 25 8 12 front and 25 10 12 rear..the only other tire that i ever owned to compare to is the Bear claw.. It as well is a great tire but not as nice looking as the gator..
I do all kinds of driving in all types of condictions,, lately alot of snow and the gators are very impressive.
Hope I could help Dave ..

Gators are identical to Mud Bugs from what I have seen except that Gators are heavier. Both are an excellent tire though from what I hear.

Great tire for mud and trails they suck big time in sand.I have a set that has been on over 2 yrs and show hardly any wear at all.

hey stubble, hows the fender clearence with 26" gators on the rubicon? and do feel any power loss on the rubi with 26"? what air pressure u run in them? I have 25" gators on my rubicon and they r great but i ran 2 pounds in the rear for deep snow and now i have a slow leak in one of them, ive had them since november and they look brand new. thanks

I have no problems with fender clearance although I did a little hammering on the muffler heat shield to ensure extra clearance. It probably wasn't necessary but now there is plenty of clearance.Actually the 26x10's and 26x12's are the most common sizes that the local dealer sells to rubicon owners and no problems have been reported.I have only ridden a few times but so far I have been running with 4 psi and it seems to work fine although our snow is settled and fairly hard right now.I do ride in areas where rocks are quite common so I don't like to run really soft tires for fear of rim or tire damage. For this reason I will probably continue to run 4 or 4-1/2 psi but I will do some experimenting this summer. Our temperatures swung from several weeks of 30 below to the high fourty's today. The warm weather is expected to last for at least a week or so so our snow is melting fast.Hopefully it will be gone in a couple of weeks and in the near future I will get to ride the rubicon in some mud for the first time. As far as power loss I never ran stock tires on my rubicon but I have ridden others with stock tires and I don't really notice a difference.
