ITP ATR or Maxxis All Trak
Some people say the ATR is better, others say the All trak is better (dry traction, cornering, ride). Anyone have experience with these two tires?
I'm lookin for a really good handling and riding trail tire, for dirt roads gravel and rocks. I already have a set of tires for the muddy season.

Hi Bigddoney, Need some info. please on your maxxis all track tires you said you have used on your prairie back on 4-10-03 post. Looking to put them on my 700 prairie. I was using the bighorn radials but they are to heavy for the type of riding I do. Did you notice a weight differance between the stock and all tracks?Comparing them to stock are they a flatter profile, do they handle high speed cornering better, how is the traction in all conditions, how do they wear? I am not looking for a mud tire, just an all around good performing trail tire. I am not interested in a 4-6 ply tire,to hard of a ride. Please give me your thoughts on that tire and any other one you might recomend. THANKS.

NYROC... last year PRAIRIEWRENCH's riding team pulled all their ATR's, & went back to All Tracs... from what I understand, they corner better at high speeds, & are much tougher than their 2 ply rating would imply... they do run short though... just over 24" O.D. in the 25" size... I'm sure that P.W. would tell you why they switched...

I have about 400 miles on a set of ATR's and have been really happy with them. I got them to run on harpack and rock and some pavement. They seem to hold up well even with the pavement riding. They grip the rocks and large logs better than anything else I have seen. I don't know anything about the all trac for comparison.
