The BLM guy said Egin lakes campground won't be open until about the end of June. And you better bring a handful of jets---5000 feet there in case you don't know. Like to know how your GasGas does on the big 'uns. Shady

I just got back form St A. Good weekend--real hot saturday, nice on sunday, nice today. Of course a lotta folks--Egin was a mess with a million people at the "triangle" by the road. We stayed at the hotel mucho comfort. Sand was softer than I expected. Took some friends down who'd never been there so helped them out a lot and didn't hang out by the races much. There was a 686 Raptor that pulled choke cherry at 33 mph someone had a radar gun. He says it just had big intake valves, stage II type cam, valve bowl porting, nothing real big but that thing was FAST. He pulled my buddies Banshee and that thing's a rocket. There was another Raptor that pulled this one by a hair at Thunder (backside) but I don't know what he had for motor. Guy with a 436 Suzuki 400 with cams but no porting and full Yoshi exhaust (the 686 of course gave him a whoopin) but he made my LT250 look like a John Deer lawn tractor. Was pretty impressive. I guess Shady needs to upgrade one of these days. Some kid with no helmet on a dirt bike hit the rocks between the lake and thunder and busted a collar bone and punctured his calf, we tended to him and one of the sherrifs took off to do something else, and got hit by a drunk blowing the stopsign at Crapo corner. Hurt all of 'em pretty bad but they'll recover. Then a cop went thru a redlight in town (w/lights going on a call) and hit a Toyota and flipped it. So in front of our hotel there was this car on its top right in the middle of the street. Yeah wild times in "Recksburg". Some other neat bikes, full doo-dad banshees and bike motor mini buggies, a few V-forces but never saw 'em run, the usual. Fun weekend. I'll post pics if any turn out decent.

No, it was blue. The guy was from Montana, I think around Billings. Young guy, and his dad (I think) was with him on a black Predator. Rappy was an '01 with tranny conversion. FMF pipe. Him and some buddy of his actually did the 686 job I guess. Don't know exactly who did the head work, but they said with the bigger intakes all they did was open the bowl and unshroud them so they could flow. He was running race gas straight, and I don't remember his compression but not super high.

We will be at St A's middle of June. My banshee is jetted for sea level with stock carbs, pipes,K&N's Any idea how many jet sizes I will need to drop ???(just a starting point) ??? Wifes 250R has a lectron so I don't know too many people running those...I will just have to experiment.
Thanks

5000 feet at St A. YOu need to drop about a million sizes then try not to be disappointed that you only make half as much horsepower Nice dunes but thin air. Hey Lateralus, there was one guy with a Predator piped and K&N'd that would do Chokecherry but he said he was in first going over the top. Guy weighed maybe 170. So there you go----sounds like mine getting over it or like sausage being made---you just don't want to see it.

Sorry about that Derby, I don't remember the grill at all. Heck that might have been him. They had a small flatbed trailer and I can't remember the truck. Yep, I'm the last guy you want for a crime scene witness. The kid was maybe 6' and lean, short brown hair, the dad shorter and also lean, gray hair that seemed to be wavy and longer. Real nice guys. The Predator had dunetracker fronts and paddles, it was a Troy Lee deal, and he put an open air K&N on it "off one of my sleds" so he's a sledder too. I don't remember flames on the Raptor. I'm tellin ya that thing was impressive. My LT250 is kissin' close to my stock (+K&N) Raptor, and this Z-400 with 436 kit beat me by like 1/3 of the hill back side of Thunder, and the 686 beat the Z like the Z beat me. My buddie's Banshee has pipes, cool head, carbs & reeds, wiseco's, no air box, and is jetted and running right and pulls real hard and this 686 beat him. Not by a mile, but beat him a couple times at Thunder. And as was stated by those guys and another I ran into, radar gunned 33 up Choke Cherry. And I'm on a lowly quadracer. I'm so far at the bottom of the food chain, I'm a field mouse and all these other guys are bobcats and hawks.
