I've been there a few times. it's ok. but there have been alot of changes in the last week or so, as far as the price and rules go. I heard:
1. NO DRAG RACING ALLOWED!!!!!!!!1
2. NO NIGHT RIDING......NONE!!!!!!!
3. $30 a weeked!!!!!!
4. a possible manditory helmet rule is in discussion.
SCREW that, I am never going back.

why no drag racing??? at all? or is that an 'on paper rule' to satisfy some insurance dude that is basically another 'ride at your own risk' kinda rule? what do they do if you are drag racing with your friends for fun?
all they needed was to designate a place for the drags and ROPE IT OFF with like NEON ropes or something if potential colisions were the concern.
and no night riding?? that totally blows. riding at night is pretty cool. i guess some people were being jack@sses and screwing up so these 2 rule changes are now for everyone.

I went to the Dunes this past saturday. His business is definitely hurting. There were only about 10 bikes there the whole day.Someone made the comment that it is only $5 more ,so i said then why can't it be $5 less if it's no big deal.I won't say i will never go back but it will only be once or twice a year now.I will save my $ and head to Lil Sahara.Oh yeah the old bastard now rides the dunes in a brand new jeep with a PATROL aticker on it .I'm sure a big weekend payed for that.

I f you are looking for a quick fix then do it but it is not really all thats it should be . we go several times a year and i know of a few that go evey chance they get to get away . the dunes are not large and the acreage is only about 800 acres you can rn around that place in about 15 minutes and see the whole lot . I've not been since july 4 th - we went to LUIL SARAHA that weekend and i've ridden actually about 2 hours since then work is just too damn crazym lately . maybe the weekend before haloween we will go for the day then VOODOO fest in NEW ORLEANS is our destination . If you want any more info just ask ,I'd be Happy to get you there and hope you enjoy it . It's always a bit of fun but the real sand is in KERMIT or LIL saraha .

Well, went there Labor day weekend.$30 a weekend x 5 quads + 1 xtra rider + camping = $170. OOUUCCHH. Can't say I'll go again. Got a $237 speeding ticket 2 miles from getting there.(They dont care for Texans) It should be called Sand Hills. Having been to Kermit (LOVED IT!!!!) The Dunes was a bit of a dissapointment. It was so rough that the wife and I could not enjoy it. Give me the wind swept dunes or give me a sharp pointed stick in the eye!
