Ive been to both Coos, and WInchester. Now i havent had the chance to venture down all the hills at Coos, but i will say that the key to winchester is getting way back in that second finger that overlooks the lake. You can find a few nasty back down into holes that can make for a challenge. The bowls there some are steep and big, but nothing that doesnt afford you the luxory of getting a run at to make it up. I could spend all day on those tree hills at winchester. Me and air roder winchester last year and found a couple nice ones.
If somebody tells me where the biggest nastiest hill climbs are,,,ill make a go at it. Side hill, tree maneuvering, no run,,it doesnt matter,,i just love to hill climb.

 

Yeah the plan still is to head to Coos, of course money and weather will have a deciding factor in it as well. I think if we go to coos, we will try and camp at spinreel.
I may yet decide to go to winchester, but i highly doubt it.

 

you mean Suicide hill? i like banshee, suicide, and idoit hill, but i th every back theres a hill where you come out of the trees with no run, it gets chaliging when it is really steep.

How come thats called suicide hill? It was too easy so I cleared some brush off to the left side for a harder trail up. It was quite a bit more challaging.

 

Well I am going to have to go down there with some of you and see some of these hills, when I was down there I asked a guy that said he rode there a lot what was the hardest hill and he said Banshee Hill. Our stock 400ex made it up that, even a stock 350x makes it up that (except maybee on a big weekend when they tear it up!)

 

I have a video I took while climbing the hill through the trees near the lake. I got the bike in 2nd gear at the bottom while dangling the camera around my wrist. Once I got it into 2nd I picked the camera up and climbed the hill one handed while filming with the other. When I got to the top to check it out I found I didnt open the lens cap so I had to do it all over again! What a rush!

So my vote would have to be that trail for technical climbing because of the trees but Banshee hill is higher and harder to climb.

 

we have reservations for the first weekend in october at horsfall in coosbay. Anyone else want to meet up?

 

It looks like me and Airraptor and possibly another guy will be heading down there. Actually there maybe about 5 of us going.

actually with 3 of us going, i cant imagine that it would cost that much. Hell we can always just eat MREs,or $1.00 menu mcdonalds. I think that a couple others maybe going as well. But alot depends on this MOBEX coming up. I forgot about that one!!! Are you going to be involved much?

 

will you guys be going down just for a day or camping? If your camping where you going to stay at?
