Default Another Paddle/Dune Question

I will be going to the dunes for the first time ever on Halloween. Do I need rear paddle tires or will the stock tires work? There is enough info on this forum to answer which paddle I should go with so all I really need to know is if they are needed. Has anyone been to the dunes with stock rear tires?

Thanks

Yeah you can. I want to the dunes the first few times w/out them on a 400ex. You will be fine, you won;t win any races against other 450's w/ paddles. I have alot of fun int he dunes w/ out paddles, your rear end is going to be really loose! Its fun!

I spent last weekend climbing Sand Mountain Nevada with my stock Dunlops.
Made it up most everything.

I woudl bet that there is not a hill you can;t make. There is only about 2-3 different hills I can think of at our dunes that you can;t make it up on stockers. I think we have pretty big hills too.

Would I be able to make it up them with the V paddles or would I have to have the straight blade paddle?

Either will work just fine. The differences between the two is very minimal.

Thanks for the info guys. I guess I'll just get paddles. Sounds like it will be easier to climb hills with which is probably what I'll be doing most.

Yeah, I think I will. I'll probably be getting some ITP Sand Stars. Unless someone has something to say about them. Anyone running them and are they any good?
