Glamis, How bad is it?
#1
I have a question for all you Glamis guys out there. I have really wanted to go there for awhile but I hear it is really bad. I was told that people try to steal your quad from you, while you’re riding people loot your camp site and steal all your stuff and people dig holes for the vehicles to fall into and throw bottles and sand on you. I just heard that it’s a zoo out there. Is all this true? Everyone on this forum seems to like it so I really don't know who to believe.

Hey Crash929,
It sounds like you heard all the same stories about Glamis that I did before the first time I went. The truth is Glamis can be and is that bad, but you need to either be stupid or looking for that kind of trouble. If you don't want to be apart of all the crazies parting don't go were they are. Its not like they are a hard group to miss. The tales of the fire pits and stolen bike and all that come from people who try riding through a group of people that have most likly been drinking for quite awhile and are just that drunk! More than likely you are going with someone(s) who have been there before. It is a blast especially on a weekend like Halloween. Like I said you can tell were to and were not to go. If a group of people look suspicious stay away from them. Take it all in though and don't miss Thanksgiving what ever you do.

Thanks for the responses guys. I will be going to the Buttercup sand dunes on Halloween. I was just wondering about Glamis because everyone seems to like it so much. I would like to make a Thanksgiving trip to either Glamis or Dumont but I'm not sure if I will be able to. Just wanted a heads up before I try one of these places. Thanks again.

yes, stay away from the crazies.
ALWAYS lock your bikes up when you go to sleep and keep valuables in locked vehicles/trailors when away from your camp. i use the cable i use to lock my bike up to lock my gas cans up when im out riding.

Gordons or Buttercup are nice and fairly calm. As far as in Glamis, I dont know, I've never really seen too much of this there. I usually go to Gordons, but the pack wants to go to Glamis this trip.

I go to glamis all the time and have never had problems. most of the rigs out there are100,000 setups, those kind of people wont give you any trouble at all. just stay away from comp and olds at night.
