Hello all!

I had a quick question: I have never been to the dunes, I don't own a bike/quad or any other off road vehicle, but I was thinking of going to Glamis with my best friend on Thanksgiving weekend just to check it out. How receptive are folks to new people without ORV's just showing up to have a good time? And how safe is it, seriously, for a couple women by themselves? Any thoughts or tips appreciated, thanks!

Michelle

i think you can stop by my camp. just kidding

folks are nice and full of life. if you can get out to the hills and drags you should be able to experience something quite extrodinary, but the true expeirence lies in the dunes itself. have fun and be safe.

You will need to stay on hard packed dirt or you will get stuck (i am sure many will offer help). There are veiwing areas that you could park and watch the action. I am going this weekend. It will be great!

If you want to meet young guys with $$$ and like to party hard, thiers no better place than glamis. Just bring some swimsuits or revailing clouthing. Most of us are single or leave are old lady's at home. A few things you might need, a shovel, a shot glass, sun-tan lotion, boots,a tow strap, a ice chest, box of rubbers, a bottel of something 80-proof, goggles, and a lighter. one time on a night ride, my brother and I were on our way back from the hill and were looking for our camp on geko road, on a holliday of course. There were so many motor-homes we could not find our's. we were both on 2-weelers (cr500's) with lights. we looked together for a long time and we started to run low on fuel, so we split up and went oppisite directions.I ran out of gas shortly after. as I was walking my bike down the road, 3 girls in a pickup truck stopped and picked me and my bike up and went to thier camp. These 3 girls were staying by themselves in a tent. We started drinking, and I mean DRINKING and the next thing I remember is waking up naked in a tent with 3 girls. My pore brother and my friends were looking for me all night, I felt so bad. I told them what happend and of course they diddent belive me.Untill i invited them to our camp the following night. that was a whole nother story.
