I've been out there 4 or 5 times, it's a lot of fun. Probably the best (maybe the only) dunes in the midwest area. Some of the dunes are probably 70-100 ft tall. The dunes aren't very technical as opposed to the pics that I have seen of Glamis or other places. The campgrounds are setup pretty decent and it occasionally gets a little crazy out there at night. There are some nice wide sand trails as well.
Overall, you will have a hell of a good time. I can't get enough of the dunes. What time are you going out there? Some friends and I will be out there for the snake hunt on April 26th and 27th.
Here is the Link for Little Sahara in case you don't have it already.

Be sure and bring some tools because someone always breaks down and it is no fun riding double. Lots of warm clothes you would be amazed in the middle of July how cold it gets at night. If you don't have paddles you will wished you did. There is a shop in the south campgrounds where you can get parts, gloves, goggles, etc........ It is really easy to get lost out there the first time you go so make sure you stay together and fill up with gas everytime befor you leave camp. Last time we were out there one of the guys riding with us went out just him and his g/f. Her first time there and they ran out of gas in the middle of nowhere with noone around. Just about the time we get back from the showers she comes riding up on the back of some guy and says they ran out of gas when we asked where she says over by the tall dunes. I told them with those kind of directions I was going to bed so some of the others went out after them and searched for 4 hours by the time they got back someone else had already towed him in. #1 thing to have is goggles and you will understand why when you come over the top of a dune with a 30 mph wind on the other side blowing sand everywhere. Other than that just regular tools and a couple of rolls of quarters for the showers.

Hey guys! I'm a pretty big fan of Little Sahara. I go with a group of guys about every other weekend during spring, summer and fall (only a 2 hour drive for us from OKC). The only thing I can say about Little Sahara is FUN FUN FUN!!!!
I agree about keeping your ride full of gas! Goggles are a must and have lots of water during the summer heat. IT GETS HOT OUT THERE!!! One thing to remember.... if you get lost, just drive in one direction, you'll eventually come across a fence line (the place is totally surrounded by fence). Just follow it and you'll make it back to camp. East fence line is main gate and north fence line is Cowboy camp. At night, ride to the top of a large dune and look for the red strobe light on top of a tower..thats the center of the dunes. Then once thats spotted look for another light, thats the main entry/exit gate (east side). From there you should get your bearings.
If the shop located at the campground doesn't have what you need, then you can drive into town (Wynoka - about 5 minutes north of L.S.) and goto Jim's ATV. He'll have something for you. Thats where I bought my paddle tires and douglas wheels from. AND get this, he's cheaper than most of our local ATV shops not too mention the internet!
There's also a great place to eat breakfast in Wynoka. On the west side of road near Jim's ATV. Forgot the name.
Be ready for Snake Hunt. Thats exactly what it means...hundreds of people will search the entire dunes looking for RATTLESNAKES!!!! They dump tons of rattlers out there, so be on the lookout! Whats funny is, if they started out with say 100 snakes and at the end of the day there are only 98 accounted for....then where are the other 2??? Something to think about....
Hope this info is helpful.
Have fun!!

Miller's is the place to eat breakfast, two words: Breakfast Buffet! If you need Polaris parts, there is a place in Seiling (just down the road.) They are really good. Once we took a Scrambler and the rider stripped out the carb bowl. He went there and they took one off a display model so that he could get back to the dunes! Also go into Alva, it's a pretty big town with a Wal-Mart and a couple of auto parts stores.

James, you're a smart man.
You will enjoy the place much more on an off weekend. Once you've been though, you should come back for a big weekend just to see the "sights".

Saw this and had to chime in. My house in the States is in Waynoka. Everything that has been said is good advice. If lost at night, the blue blinking lights are the gates. For night rides, both lights must work or you can't go out. Be sure to remove your whip at night because if you break it, you'll never find it. Be careful not to ride off of a dune. Too many first timers do that, and it costs a lot of them their lives. When approaching a peak, or anywhere you can't see the ground, SLOW DOWN! There may be a 90ft drop on the other side. If you need parts, my buddy Chuck Tune has a shop (Little Sahara ATV) in the north campground and one in town on the corner of Main (281) and Ash, just north of Jim's. You can't miss the big yellow sign at the dunes. He has worked on ATVs for over twenty years. Plus, he has a guarantee on his whips. As far as the shop in the south campground, I can't bring myself to recommend them. The owner, who shall remain nameless, has rubbed a lot of people in Waynoka the wrong way, including me. Plus, he was a prison guard before he opened a shop, and has no previous experience with ATVs. He just spends a lot of money to make himself look important. Try El Charro for mexican food. They also serve awesome bacon cheeseburgers! The town is supposed to be putting in a road for people to be able to ride ATVs and buggies into town so they can buy from the stores there. My mom is the city clerk, so stop in and bother her about it at city hall. Check my pics. The quads are what Chuck had in his crowded home shop when I was there a few months ago. The dune shots are of Buttercup Hill form the north campground lookout point. Hope you are safe and have fun.
