Thanks for replying Duneaholic. I was wondering if you know the elevation there? Are the cops easy to deal with? Any hotel recommendations? I was thinking of staying in Monahans. I'm coming down from Minnesota to ride for a few days. I've ridden dunes before, but never in Kermit. I can't wait to see some sand again! The snow blowing by my window keeps reminding me of sand!

Thanks.

There aren't really any cops to deal with at the dunes. There are a half a dozen places to stay in Kermit that aren't too bad in price. I wouldn't recommend staying in Monahans cause that would be too far of a drive. The dunes are only about 10 miles from Kermit. I think Kermit is around 7 or 8 thousand in population. Places to eat are Subway, Pizza Hut, Dairy Queen just to name a few. The elevation is around 3000 ft. If you do come this way let me know and I'll see if I can make it. Need any more info just let me know. Oh by the way there are around 2000 acres of dunes ranging in size from 5 ft. to around 100 ft. Really soft too.

Hey the dunes are about 25 sq. miles. It is a fun place to go to and ride. I live about an hour away from the sands and i go there as much as i can. I will try to come when you come and we can hook up and ride. I ride a Bombadier ds650 with some hop ups on it. I went new years weekend and there where an average of about 1,000 quads came through that weekend it was packed. I hope you can come because we always like new people to come. Kermit would be the best place to stay at. Monahanns is to far. Kermit is only 10 miles and they have some places to stay. E-mail me so we can hookup. lancekinney610@hotmail.com Hope to see ya there.
