Wrongo - maybe in the wet sand in MI, but in the dry sand, any paddle tire will do better than a knobbie, unless you are way underpowered (50cc).

ya your right, even the crappiest and heaviest paddle(see Geckos) are better than knobbies. Yes you can get by, but think about getting some dune hoppers(really cheap in rocky mtn. ). out here the sand is really soft, especially St. A and paddles are a necessity.

the most important term, corona with lime!!!!!!

My Friends mom went out to the dunes with us, and brought her brothers sand rail. She went over a razor back on a 200+ ft dune(little sahara, Utah) at about 75 mph she flipped upside down and landed it crushed the roll cage and killed her.
Moral of the story: Just pay attention to what your doing, and be ready to hit the brake.

Hey there. I've got one more for ya. It's LS-ROC and you really don't want this one to apply. It is Little Sahara Roll Over Club. Basically, if you crash in any way, preferrably by rolling over, you are a new member. This last weekend I became a charter member myself. I rolled a Kawasaki 700 V Force over on top of myself and broke every piece of plastic but the gas cover. Not a good thing. I walked away with a huge paddle tire skid mark across the face of my helmet and a bunch of huge bruises namely the ones on my right arm. Went back to camp, took all the plastic off and went back out and rode. You could not tell what the heck it was. Just be careful.
