Default Florence Dunes in September?

I was just wondering what the dunes/weather is like at the Florence dunes in September? I was planning on camping there mid-July, but I may have to go later in the summer due to a schedule conflict at work...it sucks being the new guy... (

I second that statement."it's great"

I've been there in the middle of winter and the statement still stands. "it's great"

The bottom line is go when you can you won't be sorry!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the input. It looks like I'm still going to be able to go in July, but from the sounds of it, I might be making a trip over there again in September!

When / if you go in September, you can stay at Jesse Honeyman State Park and ride right from the park into the dunes. It's a great park but you will need reservations.
You will also need reservations in July no matter where you are staying down there. Driftwood II is on the south end and there is a privately owned campground next to the state park. Check it out soon or you won't get a place to camp. If you plan on camping. Have fun, the Florence dunes are a blast!

I already reserved a spot at the Driftwood II for the weekend of July 17th. There are no more spots available. I reserved it about 6 months ago. Thats why I was so bummed when I thought my vacation time was getting bumped! Fortunately, I have a cool boss, and he's being flexible with us.
