Does anyone go out there or know exactly were it is? I went through there on my way to Vegas and I saw the dunes in the distance but I saw no road going out there. If so is it worth the time to get out there rather than go to glamis?
Thanks for the help!

Your talking about Dumont Dunes. You take the road out of Baker. I'm sorry I can't remeber the number. But as you get closer to Dumont you will see the dunes to the right. You will see them awhile before you can turn out. After coming though a pass you will see a turn out for the baby dunes. You will see a restroom and flat space leading to some small dunes. If you continue to travel north on this road there will be a turn out for the big dunes. You will travel a way off the main road before you find the flaty area where everyone camps. You will restrooms again in this area.
Its a great place to ride but I sure wouldn't want to be out there this time of year. Usually good to ride there from October until it gets hot again. Were going to spens Thanksgiving out there. I can't wait.
Hope this helps.

Take the 15 to Baker then north on 127 you will see the dunes to your right, follow around till you see the turn off, depending on what time of year you should see the big dust cloud coming from the main road going into the big part of the dunes.

Yeah I'm excited about the trip. We were down there for a week during presidents day. The wives didn't like it because we missed valentines day. Oh well. We are already ready to go for Thanksgiving. I think we'll be there for a week again. Nothing like coming back from a night ride to a raging fire. Can't wait that place is so cool.

If you saw the dunes from Baker, you saw the ones to the south. These are in the Mojave national preserve (that means you can walk on them, sounds fun huh?) I think they are called the Kelso dunes.

Ok, Thanks for the help. I'ts alot farther away than butter cup or glamis. Is it worth the drive out there? Is there any real difference between the two places? Thanks for the help.

If you have not yet been to Dumont, you will need to go. It is not as big as glamis, but it is fun.

If it is taller, it is not by much. They do pack in alot of big dunes in a small area.
