Default Whip Lights

does anybody use whip lights? I use glow sticks, but they tend to fall off when we hit the trails (trees rip 'em off).
where is a good place to buy a whip that has lights, or has anybody tried using the LED lights that walmart sells to the kids who want to make their car look "fast and furious"? the strips?

I used one on my Banshee, and really liked it.....unfortunately so did the b@stard who stole it out of the back of my truck at Buttercup. I got it at a local shop here in Tucson. Get a Sand Sports magazine, and you'll find them advertised.

Freak,
I was considering buying one of these and noticed the light is powered by a set of self contained batteries (doesn't need wiring). How long do the batteries last before having to replace? Is there a switch to turn the light on/off or do you have to remove the batteries each time?

A friend of mine bought a whip that lights up all the way up the whip, it is pretty cool looking at night on the dunes, I don't remember where he got it from, but i know he found it on the internet, it was like $100.00 if I remember right, and had all the wiring and everything.

I've duct-taped a tire-fly onto my whip before - worked great!! It's nice because even when you turn off your engine, you still have light!

You can do a search online for Yuma and motorcycle shop, and you will find the store that sells the whips with the bulbs on top - they work out really well, and are about $35.00 = the bulbs are bright, too - if you get white or light color! That's what I run these days......

The best thing I have found is E-Wire. It is about the size of 10 gauge wire and can be wrapped up your whole flag pole. I have mine wired into a switch on my dash. It does not draw a whole bunch of power either. I always leave mine on even when we are stopped up to a half hour. Comes in lots of different colors as well. I ordered 16 feet to double wrap up my 10 foor flag pole. Sorry don't have a picture.

There web site is
www.elwirecheap.com

Sorry guys was not sure how to attach a link

That is so cool Did you use the el wire by the foot and just cut it for you flag pole? I was thinking of doing something similar, but with rope lighting. This is cheaper though

I ordered 16 feet and did a criss cross pattern up and back down the pole. When you order it get them to install the end connector. They charge you a dollor to do it but the wire is very fine so it might be hard to soder the end yourself.
