Oregon/Washington Duners-World Record Parade
#1
Oregon ATV'ers,
I need your help. I (Team ALBA and Team Fat Man Racing) am putting together a parade of ATV's for Holloween 2004 in Amity, Oregon. It is a sanctioned, properly permitted, and official parade put together exclusively for ATV riders. The reason? We are attempting to take away the current Guiness World Record for most ATV's (they call them quadbikes) in an official sanctioned parade. It is held by several motorcycle clubs in a couple different categories and we want to beat the record. We have already communicated our intentions to Guiness. We need around 80 more riders than we currently have commited to this. Another footnote, all riders MUST donate two cans of food and one new toy which we are giving to the Amity Police department and Fire Department for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Riders are encouraged to dress for the occasion (costumes), candy will be provide for tossing to the crowd. Expect rain/cold. Copies of the certificate, if successful, will be provided to all. There will be news coverage, to include Dirt Wheels and local TV stations. It should be fun and it's a good cause but I need more folks. Anybody interested?

Approximately 150. We are targetting 200 just in case. Bear in mind, there have been bigger ATV rallies and getogethers, but this is the record for a sanctioned parade. Should be fun, hope the wx holds out. Wanna join in?

I think this would be a great event!!!! Is there a limit of how many riders that would be allowed to participate?????
Lets spread the word for this event to let the quading community know how well loved our sport is in the NW

We're putting flyers out this week. I will try to keep everyone posted on this message train. I am still trying to get he official appovals out of the way, but all looks well for the parade. Essentially, any rider, any age can participate (obviously, youth quads/kid riders MUST be accomanied). All ATV's must be in safe working order, no pavement shredding allowed (especially you Hillsboro DS riders) Four strokes would probably fare better than others since it is a serpentine parade at a brisk walking pace and that could be tough on the two-strokers. It will begin at the Amity High School football stadium. (Amity sits on highway 99W between McMinnville and Salem) Bear in mind, this was put together by the Amity PD and FD to help us achieve this record. There was no other reason to have the parade. That really says alot for a small township that is trying to help our sport be recognized. In return, we (the ATV riders) are paying them back with the can and toy drive. I only ask that anybody that wants to join in be prepared to step up, rain or shine, and help be counted. I really think we can do this, have great time at it, and actuially do some good for the community.
