i just want to know everyones opinions on it, what they think, how they like it, good spots... anything i guess. what to expect. this will be my first time in "real"sand. ive been in sand before but it was mixed with some dirt also. im going to be on my blaster without paddles which stinks but it will still be a blast (no pun intended) im hoping. how has everyones blasters done in the sand, with or without paddles? how cold do you think it will be? im guessing around 30-45... maybe mid 50's if we are lucky. anyways thanks

I just got back from there. I was there the 30-31 of dec. It was 60-70 deg. both days. Just check weather.com and type in waynoka Ok and get the forcast. There is a lot of both at little sahara. Make sure you make it clear to the NNW corner and that is where comp hill is "i think" many hills to climb and trails to ride, It is a GREAT time but try not to stay at the hotels in waynoka. not the best but it is a roof over your head and somewhat of a shower. I suggest going on a night ride, be careful. obviously "sp" we always have a great time

i just got home yesterday and had a pretty good time. it was freakin frizzin tho! we got there about 10pm friday and we did end up staying in a motel. better than camping in the 15 degree weather thats for sure, but they were pretty trashy. but we were bearly there for 8 hours so it was no big deal. there was snow on the sand and the sand was pretty stiff. it was a pain to find traction but sometimes it could be fun. you could be going in 4th gear and whip the handlebars to the side and spin 360's. it was pretty dead out there. not too many ppl at all until mid afternoon. i wish i would have warmed up past 35 it was dang cold. my hands were (and are) killing me.

don't let that cold weekend put a bad taste in your mouth. Go out there in the spring or fall and you'll love it. I know it's crazy busy, but you might like going on Rattlesnake weekend. I love going then cuz you can see pretty much every 4 wheeler ever made out there. If you like that kind of thing . of course we ride like crazy also but just seeing all the different bikes is worth the trip for us. You probably know though.. that on rattlesnake week.. you better get there by about the wednesday before or it's pretty tough finding a spot to camp and the motels will most likely NOT have a room free. Hope you enjoyed it enough to go back. . I can't wait to get back myself. . take care!!

yeah, i know its not like that when it gets warmer. i dont know if i will be able to go during snake week but ill probably be up there sometime when its warmer. ive heard about how busy it can be but im sure its probably worth it. sounds like a lot of fun. cant wait to go back. the snow and ice was fun to slide around in but the cold was a pain and my poor blaster kept on getting stuck. i broke through some ice into 4 inch puddle and got stuck. it was in between some bushes too. i got off my blaster and stuggled on the snow and ice slipping to get my quad back out. get a little wet in the process but it all worked out. has anyone done 360's up the side of a hill and then slid down backwards. kinda scary the first time. even though it was cold i still managed to have a nice time and that hasnt discouraged me to not go back.

I can honestly say i've never done 360's anywhere across the sand out there. . sounds a bit scary down or up a hill. .how long of a drive is it for you to get out there. . how old are you? Just wondering. . me and my buddies meet up with some guys from OKC. They always go early and get our spot since its not too far for them. . it's 6 hours for us. Anyway. . glad to hear you had fun.

yeah doing 360's was pretty scary but you have to understand the sand was packed hard and frozen and there was snow/ ice over the top of it. its a strange feeling when you do it the first time and your instinct is to worry about flipping. i honestly think it wouldnt be a good idea on some of the steeper hills. the first time was an accident but i started to get braver. i wasnt too worried cuz my blaster is fairly wide. i live in NW AR and it takes somewhere around 5 1/2-6 hours to get up there so about the same as you guys. im 16 and i ride with my uncle who is in his mid 20's and his buddies from work when i get the chance.

The real sand is at Kermit Sand Hills, Kermit,TX.
Okla. good for dragging and some people usually show on a busy wknd, but if you really want to ride the dunes, Kermit is the place.

We usually make it 2 times a yr., wish more people would come there to drag though.
