I'd love to put one of those motor's in a quad!! I hear the vibration is tough to deal with, did you rubber mount it?
rubber mounted the head stay. The other mounts are beefy as hek. It does vibe alot. some pealpe cant hanlde it. I like it. Makes the bike feel rigid and seems that much faster. There were probs from the vibes the first few trips but I got most the kinks worked out

Thats 500 is a nice ride but Ill stick with my thumper. Ever since I switched to 4 strokes riding has been a ton more fun. Power is predictable and they dont shake you to death! LOL

I remember when they did that article in 3wheeling mag a few years back (so I'm dating myself...)

That 500c 250r trike w/NOS was awesome.

To start it was tough - they had to have a funky take off the fender - start it - put fender back on issue... But then - holy crap.

I think they were @ glamis when they tested it.

I rode a cr500 a few times (my dad owned an 85'). The power was raw - pure raw.

You could jet across soggy -> man was that fun.

I'll do that when I have a few extra grand around (and I learn to weld better!)

LOWBOWTIE - you going riding this wknd? I was thinking of heading up to mammoth bar or prarie city...

I have to go to the gym and hit my legs once a week to start the basterd, lol. If it dont kick the first time your gonna be a while. sometimes I just bump it when its cold. I cut my plastics way back so I dont have to remove them. The one thing I have not perfected yet, unless I park on top of a dune. The power is uncompareable to any other set up. Its just there at all times. the money was mostly spent in the susp because unlike most 80-100 hp quads mine is set up for serious jumping and dunning.

My bike is not set up for a Spark arrestor so those two places are out of the question. I mostly only ride dunes, I was gonna go to Sand Mt. but It's a pretty long drive for 1 day and then go to work the next.

Oh great.

Maybe hes jealous, and wants a 4 stroke?? I personally love my quad (and its a 4-stroke) theres pros and cons for both of em, and its all personal preference.
