Default Douglass rims (blue or red label)

Wanted to pick up some new tires and rims for duning. My local dealer only has the blue label (.125) or red label (.190). They are out of the black label. Is the red label alot heavier than the blue label model. Is the .125 too thin for recreational duning. I have a stock kfx 400 and weigh 200 lbs. I ride smooth and easy and try not to do jumps if I can help it . What do you think? thanks.

I would say the .125 blue labels are probably fine. But if you have a 20 inch rear tire and a 10 inch rear wheel then you may get a dent or two.

i would go for the blue labels. unless you race you dont need them that thick. the red labels are nice but not needed. if you just are riding bowls and doing some occasional jumping they should be great for you.

I have had blue labels on every quad so far (except the DS.. they don't make .125s for the DS) without any issues no bent rims or anything. I may get the yamaha patern hubs for the DS just to run the lighter wheels and it makes a good difference.

I'll go against the grain and say red labels. I just think you might as well get the strongest right off the bat. I learned my lesson after bending a few black labels and I hate to say 1 red label. I still run red labels on my sand tires.

I bent my front rim slightly, can still ride, you cannot jump big with blue labels.

Just get the .125's. They are plenty strong for moderate dune riding. If you are jumping huge, I would get something stronger or maybe reinforced. I have a set of 10x10 .125's (now discontinued, or so I have heard) on the back of my 250R that are a little bent, but nothing major. I also have a set of .125 fronts that were originally used on a VW buggy, they should be strong enough for my 325 lb 250R...
