Same here, I really liked the place but the owners we a bit grouchy at times. It is a bit of a trip over to the big dunes and you were always wondering if you had enough gas to make it back. The new prices do seem a bit high and the cancelation policy is a crock. We have reservations over at oaisis for memorial day so I guess we will see how it is over there this year. We all have trailers so I think that it won't be too bad.

 

Just to let you all know the lakes campground is gettin better too they have power hookups and a dump station for when the crapper is full on the camper!!

 

That's awesome about the lakes campground, I was hoping they'd get the hookups done.

We'll be there Saturday by noon Mitch, staying in town riding Sunday morning too. We'll look for Big Yeller while we're riding!

 

Sounds good shady will try and get out sunday at least working on saturday!!

 

Guess what guys, my joy was short lived. Phoned last week to confirm my reservation and guess who answered the phone, you bet they are back. The new buyers money did not come threw and mean Gear and Shirly took it back over again.

This means I am going to have to drink way more now !!!

Guess that is not a bad thing !!!

That does not surprise me after talking to the real estate manager/whatever on the phone who was in charge of selling that place.

 

Doesn't surprise me either....

So are the prices back to reasonable? reservations?

I always got at least one butt chewing from Mean Gene or **** Shirley per trip, but it was a quiet peaceful place to stay.

 

**** UPDATE ****

Just got back last night after a week stay at the Resort. Only saw Gene and Shirly twice in 7 days. They have sold most of the spots and from what I was told they only own the 14 spots that have not yet been sold. They have new Managers in place. Both of them were very nice.

I did not have to move my tent every 3 days as I did in the past so that Gene could water the grass.
I even stayed out on the Dunes to 10:30 1 night and no one said anything to me.
I wouldn't have believed it but it is true - they renovated the bathrooms

Prices are still up there though - Payed $28 a night for a tenting spot with power and water.
I think it should be around $20 - my thoughts anyway.
