hI 700 The Coral Pinks are not that be the sand is bad at the medowes though you can camp at Ponderosa Camp ground BLM or there is camping at the dunes camp ground. do not get off the graval roads with a big rig. There are several places to ride in the area. The sand is blow sand and real soft and fine. check out our web site utazatvclub.org for some pictures, and contacts in the area. the dunes are not real big in area but it is not crowded eather. the alt. is about 6000ft. with the rain we have had the sand will be easy to go on. I live in Kanab To the south of the dunes is Moquitch Mountan that is a beutiful trail ride, with great view of the Az. Strip area. Bob

Olddirtrider, what a small world it is. I am familair with the El Paso area and have riden at Red Sands. I agree, very trashy. Otherwise, it would be a nice place for a family outing. I will look you and duneaholic up next time I'm in the area.

Thanks for the info, folks, and keep those replies coming!!.

I always tell people that El Paso's Red Sands would be 3 ft. lower if you removed the trash!

we went to coral pink in March and had a good time. It is not the most extreme place to ride but it is the most beautiful set of dunes I have personally scene. There were little ponds everywhere amongst the tress in the pink/orange sand. I assume the ponds were because of the recent snow but anyway, a good family place and very scenic. We camped at the meadows with a 30 foot toy hauler and didn't get stuck but it was early so the sand may have been more firm than normal.

cinders is excellent riding, on a busy weekend you get a lot of this black crap in your lungs though. riding is very rough and hills are very steep, need hp, and molded paddle tires, or a nice set up knobbies will work. most riding is either shooting HUGE hills or riding around swerving in and out of trees. its great, puts tons of wear and tear on your bike though.

I've been to the Cinders twice on my Skat trak Xtreme haulers with no signs of wear.

Good luck on $100 hill with that V, can't make it on mine. Been told only a Banshee, 'zilla, modded 250R, or a highly modified Raptor can make it. Be careful, its crazy high and very steep.

i've ripped off every one of my paddles on a brand new set of haulers on one weekend of shooting $100 hill at the cinders. i can make it up on knobbies, and im not heavily modified, ive see a scramber 400 make it up....with his wife on the back.
