Maybe its time to slow down just a little

I'm 49 (soon to be 50) and i have slowed up a bit AND i do choose my battles carefully........BUT for the most part i still go out and TEAR it up the best i can. I do feel like i've been run over by a truck for a week. When it comes to gettin back on the quad to do it all OVER again "THERES NO STOPPIN ME"........
I hope to ride as long as my body will let me..... In my mind that will be forever......

I ride with a lot of youger guys (up to 25 years younger) and it's hard for me not to try to keep up with them.
A high speed (5th gear most the way) 6 mile powerline road ripper a couple weeks ago got me completely worn out but I kept up (within 50 - 100 yards) of the young guys. There were times during that ride that I was wondering what the hell I was doing, trying to get myself killed? LOL

Hey all, I new to the Forum and it's nice to see some riders of the same vintage I'm 46 and just got a new 05 Raptor. New to the Raptor but not new to Quads. I haven't made it to the Dunes with it yet but been doing alot of riding around Walker Valley and the power lines. (I ride right off my place to it) I definitley can't hold it one like I used to when I was young but the younger guys I ride with ocasionally say I get around pretty good for an old guy
Tractorpacker, I see your from North of Everett,I'm on Lake Cavanaugh road about 13 miles east of Mt. Vernon. Sure would like to meet and ride with some ATVers in my area .

Tractorpacker, $kllz, Dazeys myself and two others just rode Walker this morning. Check out the Puget Sound/Seattle are riders thread. Lots of us from this area ride! We're not all younguns either, I'm 47 and I am feeling the 4 1/2 hours of riding at Walker this morning.

Long ago I realized the real value of quality shocks, a comfortable seat, good ergos, and excellent handling characteristics....all combined with good power to keep me out of trouble, or to get me out of trouble. I even appreciate reverse occasionally.
I ride with all younger guys but have no real probelm keeping up....skill and experience on a quad is a great equalizer. I just can't go as many hours per day any more!
Hang in there...it's all fun!
