Dune Bike for 15 year old?

If money is an issue, a Blaster is hard to beat. Light, easy to mod, cheap to find and buy parts for.A pipe and some jetting mods, a couple of 18" paddles and you are ready to go.

I'd say a blaster, although yamaha discontinued them theirs still some left, can't beat it because it ain't too expensive and you'd be gettin a brand new quad.

I'd try a Z400.. A Blaster is to small and you will out grow it to fast at your age.. I think a new 450 is a bit to much also.. You can get a great deal on a nice used Z400 upgraded or just stock and build the motor as you grow into the power..

WHERE ARE YOU GOING TO RIDE.......that makes a huge difference! If you are riding Glamis or Dumont, my suggestions would be different than if you are riding say Oregon Dunes for instance. Or, are you an easterner just riding one of the sandboxes where all there is to do is drag race????? Etc........ And how tall are you??????
The Blaster is tons of fun, but would probably be a temporary choice that you would outgrow very quickly. Again, depends on where you are riding.
I have to say 450R (or even a YFZ) if you are in the southwest. Sure it has a ton of power for a 140 pounder, but the key thing is that it isn't that much heavier than a little Blaster! Leave the engine stock and corked up for now, and if you don't need all the power just don't push the throtle all the way. No doubt you will be growing some, and put on some weight in the future anyway. I rode Glamis last weekend, and even at 200 pounds on the steep climbs I had to hold back on the power to keep the front end down on the 450R!
The guy who suggested the DS is dreaming. You don't want to be anywhere near that huge pig. And the Banshee is "old school", for old guys.
WHAT OTHER KIND OF RIDING WILL YOU BE DOING???? That makes a huge difference too! Like, when you aren't at the dunes will you be trail or desert riding........... Etc........
