CUTTING BRAKES

CUTTING BRAKES
Folks,
I am new to the sport. I just bought a 06 Joyner 1600cc Sandviper and I am looking to put cutting brakes on this vehicle. I spoke to dealer and they are telling me that they have not installed these and that it might snap the shaft. This is like all other buggies in that it has a transaxle transmission. I also spoke to a local custom dealer and they are telling me that they have been putting cutting brakes on these type of vehicles for years. Could someone help me out with some feed back if you have installed these brakes on a sand rail perferably the Joyner if not that is ok too. I am looking at making it easier to drive for myself and the wife. As you know it slides almost like you are on ice.
Thanks
