Glamis Survey
Hi Eveyone!
I'm doing a paper on Quading at Glamis and need some help with the "research". I have to do a survey, and was hoping you guys could answer a few questions, the sooner the better would be helpful. I promise it won't be painful!
1.) How often do you go to Glamis?
2.) How long have you been quading?
3.) What's your favorite part about Glamis?
4.) Why do you like quading?
Thanks in advance for any responses!!

1) I am not that big on dunes. More into desert cross-country riding during the cool months (and mountains in the hot months), so I only go to Glamis once or twice each season (even though it isn't that far a drive).
2) Quading about a dozen years....dirt bikes, buggies, and Jeeps before that.
3) Lots and lots of variety.
4) Although I do lots of hiking, the only safe and practical way to enjoy the desert is with some kind of motorized vehicle (there is a reason they call it Death Valley....if you are on foot you are risking your life out there!). Of all the transportation choices, I like that the quad is a simple vehicle, able to go a long distance in a short time, and I like the wind in my face....

1. couple of times a month while it's cool
2. about 3 years, been 4 wheelin about 30 years in a jeep
3. North dunes mammoth wash area, not very crowded and very different types of riding. I'm too old for the party areas.....but too young to sit home on my A$@
4. Enjoy exploring and the wind in my face, something my wife and i can do together and bring the kids and grandkids along too.

I don't know if this will help.... But here ya go...
1) Often as I can.... When time/schedule permits and my best buddys can go. You need back up in the deep sand! (working on the 5th time this season)
2) "Quading" I started before there was "Quad's"... Glamis, Since 1981
3) Fixing the "breakdown" and getting them back to camp... Even if they are not in my camp!
4) One word. "Carving." I love when the group gets in a fast groove. It's like a dance. When it's great, you "carve" da dunes!
Good luck on your paper!

1.) How often do you go to Glamis? Since I live about 650 miles I only get to have a glamis trip once a year but the dunes here in Utah are awesome so it's okay.
2.) How long have you been quading? On and off for about 15 years, but I wasn't able to get my own quad until spring 2007.
3.) What's your favorite part about Glamis? The Great expanse of it. So much variety of riding at it's best.
4.) Why do you like quading? It simply rules!!! I don't think there is anything funner for me then a Stellar day at the dunes.
