Oregon Dunes for the 4th of July

I would like to make it to Oregon but I am concerned obout the 93db limit I would hate to get there and get shut down I'd be on a piped DS650 and at idle I'm sure I'm in violation. I have heard rumors about the Sandlake area not being as strict as the rest of the other areas but I have also heard that it does not compare to Florence or Winchester Bay I have been spending most of my time in Eastern Washington @ Beverly and once at Moses Lake but I would love to hook up with a group for a oregon trip if I can work out the details (still worried about 93db)by the way do you need to have oregon tabs or permits to ride at the Oregon Dunes?
If you can shed some light for me that would be great thanks. BOMBOWNER

i'll probly make sandfest as well. the 4th i won't make, no $$ and my machine isn't broken in yet.
bombowner, as for the tabs if you have current washington state ORV tabs you're OK, while there you'll need to pay for parking in day fee areas($5/day, $10/5days or you can get the NW forest pass that lasts a year for only $30). your main worry is the sound check, i have to re-pack my muffler every time i go, and i still avoid the cops as best i can... i hate being hassled about noise in the middle of nowhere.

For as long as I have been going to Florence, very rarely have I ever seen them checking sound, There are tons of 400ex's, Raptors and DS650's with pipes, and plenty of them over the 93db down there. I rode my '89 250r down there for 2 years and nothing was ever said, untill I went to sandfest last year, it hit 103db, they just told me to get the silencer repacked.
As far as florence, the will probably be patroling the far north end of the dunes (s. jetty), typicaly were most of the day use activity is.
As far as your tabs, as long as you Washington state tabs are current, Oregon honors them.
Florence is bigger than sand lake, and the further south you go (winchester, coos bay, spinreel), the riding areas and dunes get bigger
I've rode moses lake a few time's, gets a little dusty and dirty, guess I'm just spoiled with the Oregon sand. Beverly is ok for a day trip or maybe 1 night, kind of a small area.
there are a couple campgrounds in Florence that have dune access that are pretty nice.

I'll be heading to the coast this weekend as well, but probably down to Coos Bay. I was at Florence this past weekend, camping on the sand past the Driftwood II campground in the Siltcoos area.
We got one hell of a scare Saturday night with word about a tsunami warning in effect. Turns out that the warning was cancelled as we were getting ready to pack up and leave.
It started raining Sunday, but we stuck it out until the afternoon. Everyone else packed up and left, so when the sun came out, we were but a few of the people out riding that day.
See you out on the sand...

Thanks for the Info guys, I think I need to make the trip! I probably wouldn't know what to to do with all that riding area (compared to Beverly!) I am anxious to get out with a few other Hi performance machines and improve my skills, Beverly has been good for me on learning the ways of the sand but now I need to stretch my wings a little and open'er up!!! you won't regret it...
when i go i usually stay with friends at the the 'salty seagull' in reedsport(just north of winchester bay), it's real cheap when you split a room 5-8 ways... and worth it for the shower at the end of the day alone. others in our group could not live with anything less than the best western, so all of us use the chance to be guests & use the hottub on the 2nd night we're there...it's nice & relaxing after riding hard all day
there's also camping areas with showers, i stayed in one one night when i didn't have a motel room, it cost us $15 for the night.
there's also every other type of facility from RV areas to just car camping just off the road... whatever you prefer.
