Little Sahara UT
#1
Hi all, some friends and I are planning a trip to the dunes around spring break time. Anybody been there at that time of year. I hear there is some organized drag's at that time. Any info on camping would help to.

I am going in march, and should be nice. I have not been that time of year, but if temps are normal it should be pretty nice.
As for camping, you have to pay $6 a day to get into the entire area and there are 3 camping areas. It does not cost extra to camp and you can pretty much camp anywhere. White sand is where I camped before, but it is about 10 miles from sand mtn. The next one is jericho, which is about 3 miles from sand mtn and then you can camp at the base of the mtn also.
There are pit bathrooms and then there are some with running water, but I don't know when they open those up. I would plan on bringing plenty of water and whatever else you need.
I really like riding little sahara utah and I am sure you will too.

They will open the bathrooms on Easter weekend. There is no sand drags just hillshooting. The organized racing is at the FACE of Sand Mtn. The unorganized less exotic machines run the Valley side. Four strokes struggle, if they can get up the FACE, unless your heavily modded. There are tons of cops and almost 1000 sitations issued last Easter. Somebody shot a cow also. What the hell is that about! They will check for your current registration on your vehicle and quads at the gate and look for open container. Portable holding tanks sitting and waiting for all the trouble makers. Road blocks on the way on the main roads as far as 45 miles away. They want to make it safe and keep all the drunks off their machines for good reason. It's a great spectacle, the hillshooting, be careful and don't come in all drunk and you'll be fine. Oasis is the name of the campground Bat called Jerico. It's about 4 miles from Sand Mtn. It is much quieter at White Sands and Oasis. Camp hear unless you require no sleep as Banshees will hillshoot till three in the morning. You can get to the big bowls and Sand Mtn in about 30 minutes or so from Oasis.. http://communitywebshots.com/user/sandgod4 for some cool pics!!!
