Had a great time.

Didn't pull the trailer in as we went the weekend before for the day to check things out and decided against it. The weather was great. The dunes are fun and good practice for the bigger better dunes. Saw some fast banshees, good lookin girls and got beat by a 12 year old girl. Oops, did I say that? LOL. Yes, she was riding her dads 686 Raptor. That thing is fast. If she could shift faster the bike would realy smoke. As it was she was as fast and faster than most piped and ported banshees there. Put her pops on it and those Banshees didn't have a chance. There were a couple drag Banshees there and those babys are fast. Theres a nice place to drag at the far end that goes up a slight grade all the way. Pismo is a great place to go for us Californians during the hotter months of the year. Wish it wasn't a 4 hour drive for me, but well worth it.

There were a lot of people on the beach. Sunday cleared out early. The dunes weren't crowded at all. Plenty of room for everyone. There were no buggys dragging this time. I won't be able to go back until August. Going to Little Sahara Utah and St Anthonys Idaho sand dunes for a few days and then to Montana for some fly fishing here in less than 2 weeks . Can't wait.

Wsrdskins... Hey, That area where everybody drags is called "Maiden Flats". There used to be a sign posted down near the fence on the downhill side, don't know if it's still standing or not. Your right about Pismo being good place during the summer months. The hills aren't that big, but it has a cool climate, No dust and town is right off the beach if you need supplies, gas Etc. It's the closest dune area to us (3 hours) so are group usually goes down there 4-5 times a year. Glamis is great, but quite a bit further (10-11 hours), so we usually only go once a year, Xmas thru New Years. Oregon (Coos Bay) is another nice place to go. We usually hit it every other year.

P.S. Have fun @ Little Sahara Utah and St Anthonys!!! That should be fun!!! One of these days I'm gonna have to make that trip myself.

Yeah i know of the place at Pismo too. i've heard it referd to as "Table top" even though it's not flat. they also have sand drags just off the beach down near the end of the beach. they might have them going on on the 4Th it seems like every big weekend they have an orginized sand drag there.

Don't know that I'd try and go there during a holiday weekend. As for drags on the beach itself. There are police everywhere trying to maintain a 15 mph speed limit. I guess if it were an organized event it would be alright. If people were to just start doing it I think they'd start handing out tickets left and right. Just a guess.

Bigredone,

I live in Southern California near San Bernardino. Its a 4 hour drive for me. Much closer for you. Post when you go and I or others will try and make it to meet up I'm sure.

Badass,
you could be my neighbor. I live in fontana as well. Close to the cross streets of Locust and Arrow. What kind of quad do you have? Is it a Speed? Because of your sig? My next pismo trip won't be till late July or early August. I ride at Lake Arrowhead in the summer and now Pismo. We go to the Saton Sea in the winter and we made it to Glamis once in May. I'm sure we will go to Glamis several times this winter and I'd like to go to Dumont a time or two this winter as well.
