Anyone know about the tires, how they grip going up a hill, turning, drag racing?

they suck from what i hear, they do turn well but dont climb or go as good as other, go with sand sharks or even better 7 or 8 paddle haulers. with the 400ex not having the best power for the dunes the haulers are light and work great.

The Gecko's work good IMO, but for a 400EX I think they'd be to heavy. Go with the haulers or edge's.

Actually, the Gecko's are great for just about all kinds of dune riding except hillshooting and dragracing. They give up a good bit of hook off the line, but for dune riding, they handle awesome. About 2.5 PSI is a good starting point. They are ideal for a machine with lower power, a 4 hundy for instance. Plus, you can get a set for way under a hundred bucks, and they come in many sizes to include your stock 9 inch rims. I would stay away from them on a higher powered machine, but your EX would be happy with them. I have a set for my wife's R, which has a Duncan National motor. I tried them on mine (ESR 310 ported for mid and top) and had a blast. If you can stand not winning drag races, you can save a few bucks and still have a good set of paddles. There is a shop in Mesa AZ that will ship em too you pretty cheap.
