We will also be there for New Years. It depends what you want from Glamis. If you want close to 24 hours of action camp off of Gecko road. Other places like in the washes (15 or higher) behind the Glamis store or area's in the suthern end of the dunes can be a little mellower.

All areas offer great duning. Make sure you have flags, helmets, and no riding doubles. I usually lock my quads at night, there have been thefts but not very often.
Lots more info about Glamis at http://www.americansandassociation.org

E-mail me if your interested in camping with us, we can show you the sites!

Mike,

That would be great. There is going to be 5 of us. 4 of us are driving and 1 is flying to LA to pick up the RV and drive it down. We will be getting there early Monday (December 30). Do you have a more specific email address so that we can communicate there rather than this board that may be removed? We are really looking forward to the trip and trying to get everything ready so it will run smoothly.

Take all the extra fuel for you quads you can carry on the trailer once your within 100 miles of the dunes. FUEL at glamis about 3 bucks a gallon and about 8 to 10 minutes away, and driving west 25 minutes each way to town sucks when you need fuel now.(with a motorhome it really does).
If you ride a quad with odometer, how far can you go on tank until reserve?
My buddy starts bitchin at 20 miles and always wanted to head to camp so he would'nt run out of fuel. One day we took extra fuel, He was ridding a 400 explorer Polaris. At 43 miles he switched to reserve and ran out at 48 miles. On my 650 Prairie I ended up with 62 miles as we pulled into the Glamis Beach Store. In six days we rode a total of 486 miles.
Look close at backgrounds of mountains, flats, stars, large dunes, small dunes, and remember them, it will help you back to camp. Even with a GPS it can be difficult when you can't travel a straight line. Have fun !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
