IF YOU TAKE ANY ENGINE THAT IS RUNNING IN PERFECT CONDITION WITH PROPER JETTING AND CONVERT IT TO ALCOHOL IT WILL PRODUCE MORE POWER...GURANTEED.....NOT SURE WHERE YOU GET YOUR INFORMATION FROM BUT I WOULD GET SOME OTHER RESOURCES........IVE SEEN YOU SEVERAL TIMES TELL PEOPLE THIS....IT IS NOT TRUE.....WE RUN 580'S AND 617'S......ON GAS WILL ONLY PRODUCE A LITTLE OVER 108 H.P.......SLIP ON A SET OF LECTRON CARBS ON ALCOHOL AND THE POWER ON MY 580 WENT TO 127 H.P.....NEED TO BE MORE CAREFUL ABOUT WHAT YOU THINK YOU KNOW AND WHAT YOU ACTUALLY KNOW......AND TRYING TO SHARE IT WITH THE PUBLIC....DO THE RESEARCH......ON TOP OF THAT BRING UP THIS SAME SUBJECT WITH MICKEY DUNLAP AND TELL HIM YOU WERE TALKING TO "TIM" ALCOHOL BURNER" FROM RIVA YAMAHA PERFORMANCE FORUM OUT OF FLORIDA.......DONT CARE WHAT KIND OF PERFORMANCE YOU SEE OUT IN THE DUNES....DYNO WILL TELL THE WHOLE STORY....MOST OF THE TIME IT IS THE RIDER...

Wideload, well there ya go. If your bike is tuned properly, yes you should always get more power on meth. If its not, then a power increase is not guarenteed. So both of you are correct!

OK god, since your from yamaha you must know everything correct? I know what ive seen, and ive been into this type of racing for a good deal of time. Most motors can run harder on methanol, but NOT all. I think your a cliche type of racer who thinks "ohh ill just run methanol since everybody else does" dyno numbers are fun, but they dont mean SH*T on the hill. A motor is setup for the fuel it runs. Thats why when you have a builder do your motor they ask if your going to run methanol, nitrous, gas, ect. This tells the builder what durations to run, what compressions he feels are fit, what blowdown would best benefit the motor. But coming from RIVA yamaha you know everything. LOL your a joke. Every motor responds better to the fuel its setup for.

I know what i know, maybe its you that needs to look in the mirror and evaluate what you THINK you know. ill share to the public my own experiences and NO you wont stop me from that. Its people like you that steer people in the wrong direction.

BTW only 127 horses out a 580 huh...hey your getting closer to the competition yamaha!

Dabeech is right. He said some bikes respond better to methanol. Gas can run extremely hard depending on its conditions. Wonder why sleds make so much power in the cold? Because gas makes a considerable amount of power in the cold weather, to where as the methanol doesnt. And vice versa, methanol is a "cool fuel" and can make more power then gas in the heat. Ive seen a gas 370 (safarian) run 62 (if i remember right) up sand mountain nevada. They switched that EXACT motor over to methanol and it ran 3mph slower. This is no fool when it comes to setup and jetting. After all EDDIE SANDERS himself was camped with safarian and was riding his bikes. This is one example. Like he said, a motor is setup for a certain fuel, just like safarians was. You cant expect to run a methanol port on gas, and a gas port on methanol.

oh does that make too much sense? ouch, bet that one liner hurt. Im not trying to go at it with you, you are a yamaha rep in all....but wouldnt you say a motor runs best for whatever fuel it was designed for? am i correct or am i not. Answer me that. And if a motor was set up for low comp (no2) why would it perform best on methanol with likes high comp? Why would a gas motor which runs less blow down, less exhaust, and just a generally less radical port benefit from a methanol port which is high exhaust duration, high blow down degree, and a high compression setting. Thats all im saying. Ive seen it with my own eyes. Maybe we can get chet to lock this since nobody see's eye to eye.

LIKE I STATED BEFORE....DYNO WILL TELL THE TALE.......NOT SURE WHERE YOU ARE COMING UP WITH HOW AN ENGINE IS PORTED FOR GAS OR ALCOHOL.....HIGH COMPRESSION OR LOW COMPRESSION....METHANOL RUNS ON LOW COMPRESSION WITH NO PROBLEMS.........
HERE IS WHAT WE HAVE. DONE.......
STOCK RAPTOR........ON DYNO GAINED 6 HP JUST FROM CONVERSION...
STOCK BANSHEE......9 HP.......
STOCK BLASTER........4HP.......
STOCK GRIZZLY.........6HP......
NONE OF THESE WERE ODIFIED AT ALL.....AS IF THEY WERE BOUGHT OFF THE SHOW ROOM FLOOR....
NOTHING HAS LOWER COMPRESSION THA A STOCK BANSHEE AS FAR AS I CAN REMEMBER ANYWAYS.....
STOCK BANSHEE COMES ALIVE WITH THE METHANOL.......
I JUST FEEL GUYS OUT THERE ARE MISSING SOMETHING WHEN IT COMES TO JETTING.....NOT SURE WHAT...
I HAVE PUT SEVERAL STOCK JETSKIS ON METHANOL AND THE GUYS CANT BELIEVE THE POWER INCREASES....
IM NOT TRYING TO **** ANYONE OFF........BUT SOMETHING JUST DOESNT MAKE SINCE FOR YOUR GUYS MACHINES NOT PERFORMING WELL ON METHANOL????

SEE YA

HEY GUYS, YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO TIM. HE KNOWS HIS STUFF. THIS GUY IS 6'6" AND ALMOST 350 LBS.
AND IN 300 FT HE WILL KICK YOU BUTT. HE HAS A 580CC ALKY BURNIN MACHINE THAT IS PUTTING OUT 138 H.P. AT THE WHEELS. HE HAS DONE A LOT OF RESEARCH AND GETS IT RIGHT ABOUT 99% OF THE TIME. HE COMES OFF A LOT ON INFORMATION AT THE PRICE OF NOTHING. THAT OUGHT TO SHOW A LOT OF PEOPLE WHAT KIND OF PERSON HE IS. HE HAS HELPED ALOT OF PEOPLE OUT THERE. GUYS HAVE TOLD ME THAT HE WILL SPEND A LOT OF MONEY TO GO TO RACES AND NOT EVEN RACE HIS OWN BIKE SO SOMEONE ELSE CAN GET THE FEEL OF A BIGBORE ENGINE. I THINK THIS IS HOW HE GETS ALL HIS WORK. HAHAHAHA. HIS MACHINES DO RUN AND RUN STRONG. HE IS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE. I HAVE SENT HIM ALOT OF WORK ALSO AND ALL MY CUSTOMERS ARE HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS HE PUTS OUT. ABOVE ALL HE IS CHEAP LABOR. WHY! I HAVE NO IDEA. HE LOVES HIS QUAD AND HIS (YOU'LL NEVER BELIEVE THIS) RC AIRPLANES. HE FLIES STUFF WITH 12FT WINGSPANS. HAS JUST AS MUCH IN A PLANE AS A STOCK BANSHEE. $6,000.00. HE TOLD ME HE EVEN PORTED HIS AIRPLANE ENGINE.

I'm 5'8 150lbs. Tim really doesnt want to go into the 300 foot game with me. With all do respect I thought the 580 was 127 horsepower? oh well either way. This is nothing to argue about correct? you have your dyno numbers you like, we run the hills. Do i care about dyno numbers? NO, but you do. thats fine. I think setup has a lot more to do with how a bike runs rather then numbers. But thats an entirely new subject and nothing i want to get into. Im glad you help people, i am. I try to help people as well.

BTW our machines perform well on methanol
