A buddy just sent me this e-mail:

"There not going to sell the annual passes at Sand Mountain on all weekends, just the busy ones.
You can call them at 775-885-6000 and it's $45.00 for the annual one or $20.00 for seven consecutive days. "

Fees start the 12th.

The annual pass is good until the end of Sept. (not real annual). After that the season will run from Oct. 1 - End of Sept.

I guess the annual pass is a plackard so, you won't be able to get one unless the ranger is on duty. (Not sure about this.)

You need your license plate number when you call the above number for an annual pass.

Required Vehicle Equipment:
Flags- All vehicles operating in the dunes and camps MUST be equipped with a flag mounted eight (8) feet from the ground, no exceptions.
Lights-Headlights nad taillight are required for nightime operation of vehicles.
Muffler-Required, no excessive noise. "In a different flyer it says Spark Arresters are required on all OHV's"
Brakes-Required on all vehicles. Not a bad idea.
Seat Belts-Required where applicable.

Nothing about helmets so those who wish to ride without them, have fun, nearest hospital is in Fallon.

Other:
Quiet time-12 a.m. to 6 a.m.
No firearms or fireworks.


I have heard that the law will be there enforcing all the laws and regualtions, and if you like to fly through other peoples camps which was real common on Saturday, look out they are gunning for you especially, so be cool through the camp areas.

 

no fireworks? lol they are dreaming on that one. I dont know what they are going to do when memorial day rolls around. None of the drag racers use "mufflers" and they dont run flags either. Gonna be a lot of fun...lol the 12-6 curfew thing isnt going to fly very well either...lol

 

I hope people understand that if you do not follow the rules they might just close the Mountain, I know it sucks that they are enforcing rules that have been standing for years. But they are tired of the problems and complaints, so now they are going to be strict, I hope I am wrong and they won't be too tuff on everyone. But just to be safe, be smart and don't screw around, and if you think they won't close the Mountain down think again, unlike Pismo there is no surrounding community saying if you close it down we will lose money.

 

hey im not trouble, i just watch. i like to watch. I just race the hill and work on bikes. Im not one of the guys whol sets the tires on fire and rolls them down the hill...pretty damn funny though. We had a buddy light his bike on fire and roll it down the hill...lol what a dumbsh*t...
