Paunsaugunt Trail, Bryce Canyon Utah 2008
Paunsaugunt ATV Trail
Day 1; the ride there.
Ready and heading out, May, 14, 2008; 5:00 AM
Can’t help but smile, we’re on another great adventure.
HWY 12 through Red Canyon, just a taste of what’s in store ahead.
Ruby’s Inn; Ruby's Inn - Closest Lodging to Bryce Canyon National Park
I really don’t care for camp grounds and this was only the 3rd time we had ever camped in one.
If I went there again I would boondock along the Great Western Trail by Tropic Reservoir.
This guy has been one of my best friends since we were 8 years old.
This guy owns an RV dealership in Salt Lake City and is who we bought our little
vintage travel trailer from.
Our camp is set up and we can’t wait for the sun to come up day 2.

Day 2; Badger & Skunk Creek
Tropic Reservoir.
Tropic Reservoir was our first pit stop for refreshments.
Just a few scenic pictures. The Paunsaugunt Trail skates along the border of
Bryce Canyon National Park.
Sometimes it’s better to just ride in 4-wd, it seems to be more effective
than waiting too long to push the little button.
Me and my wife, great view.
Breath taking scenery.
The Paunsaugunt Trails sit just over 8000 ft, we had not anticipated
any snow, we’ve learned its best to be prepared for all weather conditions.
Lunch, the fire was a very welcome part of our lunch.
Crossing a fallen tree, no winch needed here.
One more shot of Tropic Reservoir on our way back to camp.

Day 3; Blubber Creek and Clay Springs
Trail ready, 7:30 AM
Oops, Lance either didn’t have enough speed or once again forgot to engage his 4-wd.
With the Paunsaugunt Trail being about 350 miles south of Salt Lake we really didn’t
anticipate this much snow for May, we actually didn’t expect to see any.
We had Brats for lunch today.
And quite the smorgasbord.
Full stomachs and back on the trail, decisions decisions.
We gave my friends AC a pretty good workout that day.
We’re almost there.
Road open and we’re on the trail again.
What a great ride.
We saw quite a bit of wildlife too.
And as all camping trips, dinner was fit for a King.

Day 4; Clay Creek, our last day riding.
Ruby’s Inn is just a hop skip and a jump from the entrance to the park.
We stopped here along the road so we could take the following picture;
8000 miles and 920 hours.
Lots of fallen trees.
Even the ladies enjoyed dragging them around.
We felt like a tree service company after a few days.
It was at least worth a try, LOL
We had to find a way around the last one.
One more tree and not the last.
We’re not mudders.
I loved this “Lone Pine”.
And once again, dinner was delicious.
