Default z400 or 400ex

hey im looking to upgrade to a bigger quad to either a 400ex or a z400 (looking more towards z400) but im not sure which one would be better. I know Hondas are very good and reliable cause I own 3 of them. Are suzuki's good, reliable ? Do they tend to break down more than hondas ? Any positive or negative experiences on either of the quads ? thanks.

The Z is faster but both are great quads. The Honda sits lower but is air cooled and didn't have reverse until recently. Can't remember which year it was added.

Suzuki is liquid cooled and dohc and has always had reverse.

Ride both and see what you think.

All of the big four will provide good reliability. Being a higher tech motor, there is more to inherently go wrong with the Z, but they have proven reliable over time. If you are buying new, I see no sane reason to choose the Honda unless they give you a killer price difference out the door. The Z was superior in '03 when it was introduced, and has only widened the gap since then. Buying used, I would be more interested in the cleaner, better maintained unit.

go w the z. if you plan on building up the motor the z will be a better plate form. mainly because its liquid cooled and will disapate the heat better. the 440 motors for the ex's tend to start to lug down after they get warm. as the z wont. i would highly recomend the z. jmo.
