What Quads to get for kids?
#1
Hi All, I found this site and what a cool site it is, this is the first post here and I'm looking for advice on what to get for my kids, son is 10 and daughter is 8. They can both ride my Sportsman 500 but it is a little to big for them. I'm going to get a couple of used machines for them and think they should be automatic and electric start and maybe 4wd. I have property they can ride on but we would like to go to some ORV parks as a family and have some fun.
I don't know all that much about who make what and what to avoid, the Chinese stuff turns me off. I saw a Suzuki kids 90 for sale but I think that that might be to small. I was thinking maybe 4wd so they could ride in the winter. What do you guys think?

If they can handle a Sportsman 500 I would look into smaller 4wd machines (if you really need them to have it). Kawasaki Prairie 360, Polaris Sportsman 400 (engine is a 450), Yamaha Grizzly 350, Suzuki King Quad 400 and, Honda Rancher. These would all give your kids room to grow but are somewhat smaller than a Sportsman. Other thoughts would be 250cc range 2wd quads. These are plenty powerful and good quads to learn on. As long as you don't have major deep water holes or mud holes or steep rocky climbs these sized quads are ideal for learner quads.
