Both are simply awesome. The cheaper one gets my vote

After having owned a brute and riding a sportsman, I will say I would take the Sportsman just for the comfort. The seat on the Brute is like sitting on a brick compared to the Sportsman seat.

If you're going to get a new one, get the one with all the goodies, why start off obsolete?
The XP850 EPS is head and shoulders better than the Brute or leftover 800.

That would be sweet but that is out of my budget.

On a side note, I did ride the sportsman today and the plastic body was vibrating loudly in the area under the handlebars....annoying. Is this normal? It was brand new too.

Usually the Polaris singles will shudder a bit at idle, but I've never seen a twin with shaking body panels. I'd bet something didn't get snapped in place correctly.

If the front storeage isn't latched or if something is in the front can rattle around.

If my math is correct we're talking 1300 difference. I am limited on dealers.

An XP with EPS is worth $2500 more in my book,
once you ride 1 with EPS you'll never want 1 without.

I just reread you 1st post, only hunting/fishing/snowplowing, I'd get a Polaris 500 X2, big and heavy for pushing snow, large box to haul hunting/fishing equipment. You may be able to find leftover 500/700/800s.
