Electrical problems with Sunl Hanma R5
#1
I bought a used Hanma R5, 110cc ATV, in non working condition, and with no operator or service manuals.
So far, I've charged the battery, changed the battery on the remote, cleaned the carburetor, and shimmed the deadman switch cover.
I'm getting no spark. It turns over (sometimes on it's own), but no spark.
Any thoughts on what I may be missing?
Does anyone have any detailed instructions on how to troubleshoot electrical problems like this?
Thanks,
Gary D.

I would suspect that this has a magneto vs. some sort of CDI or electronic ignition. So, if you chase the spark wire back, where does it lead to? Do you get power there when you turn it over? If not, the magneto may be bad. If you are getting power there, but not at the plug, then you may have a bad plug wire - they degrade over time.
If the plug wire runs from the kill switch, then do you get power coming into the switch?
Good luck!
