I am looking to buy a older 4x4 quad (like to put a plow on it ) Any recommendations I'm trying to spend less than 2500 for one and Don't mind minor repairs but Kinda looking to hear your ideas especially of lemon models

Well prices vary drastically from one area to another. I recently bought a 4x4 ATV about what your looking for.

Its a 2001 Suzuki 300 King Quad. Has about 1600 miles on it. Complete with electric winch with handlebar mounted controls and a Moose snow plow. Also had a hitch on the back.

Price was $1450. It had good tread on it - a little over 1/2 there....but the place I bought it said they would mount ITP Mud Lites all way around it for another $250.....so I went that route.

I believe these are good quads and well suited for snow plowing as they have a super low in addition to low range on the transmission. Also has diff lock.

Hauls me around plenty good and does the job.

Suzuki Eiger. Cheap, tough, reliable, and lots of aftermarket accessories.

The older kawi 300-400 bayou's are a bit of a pain to keep shifting into reverse when you are plowing imo. Polaris's are very easy. You could buy an older express or sportsman that would do the job great.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the advice, I'm sure I'll buy a spare LOL but I picked up a 96 King quad 300 with a winch and plow for 500. Needed a carb clean and missing the master cylinder but It runs and drives good. I'm also looking at a 99 Grizzley, I have to Kawaski's but they are 2wd and for where I ride and what I do with them I need 4x4s The King will be the wifes when I get a bigger one, What's a fast fun sport quad for a good price? I'm thinking a 400Ex but listening to the pros Thanks

Good buy on the King Quad....they are work horses. In super low with diff lock on I think I could pull a house if I wanted to. The plow and winch are worth what you paid for the wheeler.....got any pics, I love to see older machines.

Here is my beater KG....took the plow off the other day, no snow so no need....figures I buy a 4x4 ATV with a plow and it stops snowing.

The 400ex is a good trail quad and lots of fun. You can get them for a good price too. You can find them for under $2000 in excellent shape and even cheaper if they are beat up a bit.
