Default Alpha Sports Summit 180

A few questions. Please go easy on me, I'm a forum noob.

I have a 2003 Alpha Sports Summit 180. I was told these things were made in the same factory as polaris manufactured ATVs.

I've had so many problems with this thing..and I'm not a motor head so I'm at a loss. Right now it doesn't fire up via electric start even with a fresh battery. When you do get it running by kick, it stalls out rather fast. When it runs and runs enough to move, in Forward, it does not move fast at all and is definitely having some issues. In reverse, there is a considerable difference and you can move a bit better.

I was told these run on some type of ACT Belts or something..could that be a possible problem? I was told Jets, Carb, things like that?

Also, if how much do plastics run for these things? I have some considerable plastic breakage in certain spots..and would prefer it to not look kind of ratty.

Lastly, barring this does get fixed up, could a Summit 180 2x4 with Tire chains stand to plow a few inches of snow? I've been meaning to get some better use out of it and over here in Massachusetts, we get hammered by the occasional storm so I figured why not put a plow on it.

Thanks for the help in advance,
VS
