Default Buy Brute Force or not?

Hello all. I am currently an 04 Honda Rancher 400 AT owner and am looking to move up in CC's a little, I have an opportunity to trade my rancher and throw in a few hundered bucks for a low hour, <300 mi 05 Brute Force. I've been reading and it seems the first year BF's had a lot of issues with the carb, belts, etc... BF owner says everything runs good and it has an upgraded ignition and wheels/tires.

What to do?

The BF are a great quad tho I am afraid it not just the first year BF's that had issues. I ride with three Ranging from 09's to 06's and all tree have had tranny issues of some sort. IMO if you dont mind wrenching on you quad the BF's are a fun quad to own!
