I'm not sure if anyone out there listens to music while riding?

I have music going all the time, driving, working, fishing, snowshoeing, you name it. Now, its time to sort out tunes on the ATV.

I'm wondering if anyone listens while riding and if so, what do you use-headphones, mounted speakers, pre-rigged helmets?

in this area, we got a twister hammerhead go kart dealer that has a stockpile of speakers that most people don't want when they buy a go kart from him. the speakers look like the old glass packs off of a muscle car. they about 2' long and mount on both sides of the engine. kinda looks like the mufflers of most atvs except for the mesh. i presume they can take water abuse(splashing not submerging). they link up to the MP3 player in the dash of the kart. i presume one could mount them to a quad and then protect the mp3 player from water/mud.

 

I personally dont want to hear anyone else s music (or bike for that matter) so they darn well dont need to listen to mine!!!! Noise is the biggest killer of our sport and and I will do my best to NOT contribute to it!!!!!!

 

i'm with you dodge57hemi, that's why i have quiet muffler systems. music is for camp. i just threw that piece of info out there in case someone wanted the speakers for camp.

 

Smooth trails, challenging climbs, rich scenery, peace and quiet, no crazies acting dangerous on the trail.

Funny thing. Times when I want it and times when I dont. The ATV is generally a don't. Maybe plowing snow, I'll figure that out next winter. I want some time to hear the real sounds in life. Yea, nature and all like that is cool, but I will readily admit to loving the sound of an engine doing its thing. I was playing with a BMW M-class 5 series the other weekend (an '01), and when I really got on it, it was the most incredible symphony I can imagine. Not to mention it took off like being shot out of a cannon. I would never want to disrupt that. Driving it to work? Sure music is good. Mostly anyway? Just my .02, have a great time, just, please, use ear buds.

 

Well, I'm also one who doesn't like hearing other people's music, so I went with earbuds in the helmet. I wear headphones at work and while traveling/flying and earbuds while working out and snowshoeing/x-country skiing, so earbuds were the easy answer. I was planning to install my Bose QC3 noise-cancellation headphones into my HJC SY-MAX II helmet, but I find I like to also be able to hear the pitch of engine in the background. My music source is just a little, indestructible RCA Lycra II mp3 player with a 4GB SD card loaded with a lot of Joe Satriani.
