Default thinking about doing something crazy...

so i've been thinking of ways to get more and more ground clearance on my 2wd, really don't have the money to get a 4x4, and i don't wanna get rid of it, so i was thinking of a system of gears so that i can change the ratio before it gets to the rear axle, so i don't need such a large gear back there and gain 2" of clearence(i'd also be installing the brake caliper on the gear exchanger i guess you'd call it).

so my question is, does anyone know where i can find a calculator or how i could calculate out what gears i'll need? i've seen this setup before on bikes and such where there's a set of gears right where the rear swing arm pivots so that the chain stays tight even through flexing.....was thinking about something like this(as a warrior doesn't have this setup)

Best way to get higher ground clearance with your 2wd quad is by the balancing of good rims and tires to match. I did this to my LTR450 Quad Racer. I put a matched set of bead locked racing rims on front and back followed with a matched set of "Hole Shot" racing tires, I now have 9" clearance under my rear differental skid plate and 12" clearance under the nose of my front frame.

Good luck
