Default Help for newbie

Good day. I'm new here and new to atv's in general.
I need some advice/direction from the group.
I am looking to purchase an atv for working around my property and would like some input on what to buy, or what not to buy.
Some things I have thought about.
To too big (physically)as this is a wood lot that it is to be used on.
4x4 as it does have some wet areas/hills ( no mud bogging )
Not sure if engine size really matters as it would be lower speeds and not huge loads, have a tractor for that.
Looking for used probably a couple of years old
Not looking for Chinese ..... want something I can easily get parts for
My background..... Had dirt bikes as a kid, and street bikes for a LONG time, but I know nothing about 4 wheelers and there drivelines, What's reliable and what's not.
I know I am rambling, but I thought that I would give you as much info as I could so you know what it is to be used for
Thanks in advance
Steve

Welcome to the forums.

If I were looking for a used 4x4, I'd probably start with Honda. Proven design, that for a while was relatively unchanged.

That being said, the problem with buying used is, any one of them can be mistreated by the previous owner. And for the most part, all the major brands are quality machines. Best thing to do is compare some prices and go out and take a good look at the machines.

no different than a used vehicle, ride the quad, look at it, YOU start it, YOU be in charge of the potential sale, not the owner. ask questions, don't hesitate, you can always walk away.........have no regrets.............good luck!
