Default plowing snow with tracks?

Has anyone plowed snow with tracks? I have a 2010 sportsmen 800 with tracks and want to plow snow with them but been told the tracks plowing snow are worse then tires! I find it hard to beleave that the tires are better to plow with traction wise.

I think this should answer your question.

A ATV with tracks should push way more snow than one with tires, even tires with chains. ATVs with tracks go places even snowmobiles would not try.

I think the only slight drawback would be starting the plowing. If you end up on top of the snow you will end up having to get down to the surface you want to plow. And, I don't think that is much of a drawback at all. You have so much more contact area with the tracks that you should be able to push just about anything but ridiculous 3-4' deep storms.

Plowing with atv's the biggest killer is weight ... 750lbs machine + you and plow is around 1100lbs ... if you add 100lbs to the front and a couple hundred to the back you will have loads better traction ... just remember to remove it before parking it till the next fall

A buddy of mine was plowing his driveway last year with a 650 Kawi with tracks & his brother-inlaw had a 700 Kawi on tires helping the 700 could not plow near as much as the 650 with tracks.
