Default To Go or Not to Go

I have Thursday off and was considering to head to Hatfield McCoy.

They are calling for 1/2 a inch of rain temps between 38 and 52. I have a rainsuit and waterproof boots. My ATV is a Kawasaki Bayou 200 (2wd). I will be riding solo.

Should I go? Any suggestions for riding in the rain?

And yes I have a come along to drag me out of the mud.

I personally would never go on a trip like hatfield alone especially since you'll be in some areas considered bum F#%K with weather conditions not so favorable. What happens if you have a mishap and was injured in the middle of nowhere? I always have a riding buddy or two when out riding away from home. If I was hurt on my own property or normal riding spots and didn't show for dinner my wife would send someone looking for me. In the middle of nowhere, where would you start looking? If you do go alone, be safe and don't try something stupid. My 2 cents.

I don't like riding in the rain. I don't ride alone anymore either. Too many things can go wrong.

As the others have said, riding alone in a big area like that might not be such a good idea, safety wise.

Not to mention the thought of dueling banjos playing as you ride along.

I decided not to go, I fear the rain would ruin my day. I am going to head out next Thursday.

Thanks for the opinions guys.

A lot of it depends on a person's situation. For me, if I made arrangements to go ride somewhere, I would go regardless of the weather, but that's because I have no place near me to ride.

It probably doesn't hurt so much when you fall off and hit sand.
