I would avoid them because they're made in Taiwan.

So is many of the "amercian" brand engines and other parts too, should that make them inferior then? Since is Made in the USA a quality mark?

I would buy one made in Taiwan before a Chinese mainland brand. Can Am and Arctic Cat both re badge their 250cc and under quads. Kymco has been a very reliable brand. Parts were in issue in the past, but those have gotten a lot more plentiful.

As far as the TGB brand goes, I haven't really seen any reviews here on them.

I agree, but brands like Kymco, TGB and SYM have almost same quality as the japanese brands. And i would claim equal to the american brands when we talk same category. Ofcourse are the bigger and more expensive machines also more state of the art.

I have asked a Can Am dealer about the re badging, and they say they are made to Can Am specs. He was the one that pointed out anything under 250 was made that way.

Also just read that the new Arctic Cat 700 sxs is made by Kymco.

My question isn't about the quality, it's about the price. Obviously, they're saving money by doing this. Why aren't we seeing prices come down any?

I have seen first hand some really crappy quality engine casting in the Chinese brands. The frames of all of their brands seemed very weak, with bad welding. I would have more fears of putting kids on something the frame could just break before I'd worry about the motor crapping out.

I can honestly say i would not buy a chinese brand atv, even the "best" chinese brands like Linhai and CFmoto do not look very well made. But it think it is important not to compare chinese and taiwanese brands. The taiwanese brands are lightyears better. My dream is to have a Can-am Renegade 1000

TGB manufactures the transmission parts for Can-am, Polaris and Artic-Cat depending on model.
