I would be looking for Blasters, 250ex, 300ex, (400ex for you) or any utility quad 200-400cc.
Stay away from lakota, mojave, and 3 wheelers.

Sometimes you can get pretty good deals on kids size dirtbikes.
sounds good. he said this one has lights, and racks front and back. 4x4, reverse. hopefully we strike a deal and load it up.

if he paid $1000 2 years ago, bring $700 cash and he will take it. Golden rule, you never tell a potential buyer what you paid originally. Good luck

alright folks. my co worker ended up not wanting to sell it after all. but my neighbor down the street had a four wheeler sitting around, (pretty much the reason i wanted to buy one) he didnt really know much about it, he told me it was a 97 honda fourtrax 300. its a little rough around the edges, but it does run good. it needs some brake work, it needs a steering shaft bushing, and it needs im assuming a starter switch solenoid (it wont start with push button but starts with the kick lever), needs seat cover its a 4x4. i can recover the seat myself, paint it myself and fix it myself. this is my first time working or buying a atv, i usually work on classic cars. i ended up giving him 200 bux and rode it home, ( i have the trunk lid) what yall think?? i already ordered a pdf service manual for it off ebay for 5 bux

wheres a good place to buy parts? ready to start on the new project.

Thats a pretty good deal. You gotta love the few hundred dollar quads. You can beat the **** out of them and do all of the crazy things you wanted to try but didnt because you did not want to destroy a newer quad.
I would just ride it. Fix it when it breaks but other than that just ride it. Great quad to let the kids learn on. When they get the hang of it get them a newer machine.
Welcome to the addiction.

Getting a running 4x4 for 200 is unheard of in my area.

That's a steal. I would get insurance on it right away because it's worth more than $200.
