Thumbs down Not So Super

Just picked up my new Yamaha Grizzly 700 EPS in Camo. This is my second new Yamaha in the past 7 years and love the product. I was VERY disappointed that Yamaha switched preferred winch suppliers and was more disappointed when the winch failed my FIRST time out.

Why do would Yamaha put a poor product on such a great machine?

Cost cutting like all the other manufacturers are doing.(Polaris 500's without recoil starters for example) Probably got a good deal on Chinese winches instead of Warn, etc. OPT

Your right. A rope would do just fine cuz when a honda gets stuck it usually in 5 inches of mud or hung up on a twig. You know, because the great ground clearance and no diff lock they have.
All fun intended!!

Too funny.
As others have said, it's all about cost cutting. Offer the same quad for the same money but cut other corners to keep the profit margin up. As OPT said, Polaris went from a Warn built Polaris badged winch to a cheap knockoff company. I think the thing to do is talk to your dealer and see what they can do for you. Maybe switch in a Warn or Superwinch product. Hope things work out for you.

Didn't Polaris have a problem with the winches they included for a while?

Yep, they went to a Chinese brand if I remember right. When I traded my Polaris Sportsman X2 it still had the Polaris branded Warn 2500 lb. winch on it that performed every time it was called on. The ones they switched to around the time the XPs came out were garbage.
